A Magical Weekend in Rome: La Dolce Vita Unfolds
From the very moment I arrived in Rome, I knew this trip would be unforgettable. Checking into the Hotel Eden, part of the prestigious Dorchester Collection, felt like stepping into a world of timeless elegance. Perched high above the Eternal City, its grand windows framed a skyline steeped in history. The hum of Roman life below set the perfect tone for a weekend brimming with celebration, beauty, and romance.

An Evening of Enchantment at Palazzo Talia
Our festivities began that evening with a pre-wedding celebration at Palazzo Talia, a stunning venue with a courtyard straight from a fairytale. Candlelit tables glowed under the Roman sky, laughter echoed off ancient walls, and the air was thick with joy and anticipation.
Guests sipped bespoke Italian cocktails, nibbled on delectable canapés, and danced until the early hours. The atmosphere was electric — pure La Dolce Vita, where every smile felt like a scene from a classic Fellini film.

A Leisurely Roman Afternoon at Hotel de Russie
The following day began slowly — as all perfect Roman mornings should. After a restful lie-in, we wandered to the iconic Hotel de Russie for a long, leisurely lunch. Nestled near Piazza del Popolo, its secret garden felt like a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city.
The weather was delightful — that golden Roman light that makes every corner glow. Each dish was a masterpiece: vibrant, flavourful, and unmistakably Italian. After lunch, I strolled along Via del Babuino, losing myself among elegant boutiques and cobbled streets — a truly Italian form of therapy!

The Dream Wedding at Villa Aurelia
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, the true magic began. Our wedding ceremony at Villa Aurelia was nothing short of breathtaking. Perched high above the city, it offered panoramic views of Rome’s golden domes and rooftops, bathed in the warm hues of sunset.
Guests arrived for cocktails in the villa’s garden, where laughter mingled with the rhythm of the Zeffe dance. The bride and groom glowed with joy as music filled the evening air. It was a black-tie affair that turned into a night of endless dancing beneath the stars — elegant, joyful, and deeply romantic.
And just when the night couldn’t get any better, we gathered by the water for late-night pizza — the perfect finale to an unforgettable celebration.

Exploring the Eternal City
The next morning, after a divine breakfast back at Hotel Eden, I set out to explore more of Rome’s treasures.
No visit to the Eternal City is complete without standing in awe before the Colosseum, where ancient stones whisper tales of gladiators and emperors. From there, I wandered to Aventine Hill, peeking through the famous Keyhole of the Knights of Malta — a view so rare it frames three countries in one glance: Malta, Vatican City, and Italy itself.
Of course, a stop at the Trevi Fountain was non-negotiable. With a coin tossed over my shoulder, I made a wish (my lips are sealed — you’ll have to guess!).

A Taste of Roman Luxury
Lunch was at the elegant Hotel d’Inghilterra, where Cafè Romano served an exquisite spaghetti alle vongole, perfectly balancing tradition and sophistication. And for dessert? My favourite — creamy tiramisu that was pure indulgence.
The afternoon was for la passeggiata, that quintessential Italian stroll. I wandered down the Spanish Steps and along Via Condotti, where every window sparkled with high fashion and temptation.

The Perfect Farewell: Dinner at Pierluigi
As night fell, dinner at Pierluigi, one of Rome’s most celebrated restaurants, awaited. Every bite was perfection — fresh, elegant, and full of character. But the evening wasn’t complete without one final toast to Rome.
Returning to the rooftop bar at Hotel Eden, I raised a Bellini to the twinkling lights below. The city shimmered like gold dust on velvet — a vision of romance and wonder.
Arrivederci, Bella Roma
Too soon, my Roman weekend came to an end. As the first rays of sunrise touched the city’s terracotta rooftops, I realised this wasn’t goodbye — merely arrivederci. Rome had worked her magic once again, and I knew I’d be back to live La Dolce Vita all over again.
